Rongchang pottery

Pottery stands on the list of speciality products of Rongchang District, the westernmost district of Chongqing, alongside folding fans, hemp, pigs and tea. Anfu is one of the district's six subdistricts. The district record names no workshop and no kiln date; what it does give is the plain, the pig economy, and the ceramic process itself, from refining kaolinite and porcelain stone to a body fired at about 1,200 to 1,400 degrees.
