Chongkan: Chen Tuan's town and the yellow plain

Chongkan is the southern town of the Tongnan plain and the home town of Chen Tuan, the Daoist master who lived across the Five Dynasties and the early Song. Its list of sights is small and exact: the Eight-Angled Well, a statue of Chen Tuan, a Tai Chi pagoda, an old quarter known as the Tai Chi old town, the Thousand-Buddha cliff and the Jade Buddha Temple. Around it lies one of the largest rapeseed-growing areas in China, twenty square kilometres that turn the plain yellow in spring, with the world's largest Tai Chi diagram laid out on the slope below Chentuan mountain.
