Longxing: fourteen names at the edge of the city
A town whose community names still describe a hill, a gate, a weir and a cave, now inside Liangjiang New Area.
Longxing is a town under Chongqing's Liangjiang New Area, at the northern edge of the built-up city, and it is made of fourteen units: the Yinglong and Yulin communities and the villages of Bishan, Shixi, Heyan, Shimen, Shuanghe, Xiaba, Renmin, Shajin, Dongkou, Paihuadong, Longdan and Heping. The names read like a description of the ground, a wall-like hill, a stone gate, a stream running over stone, a cave mouth, a river weir, placer gold. Until 2025 the town belonged to Yubei District, which administered it for Liangjiang New Area; in November of that year Yubei was abolished and the new area became a district, and Longxing passed to it whole.
