Dianjiang County.

Dianjiang lies in the middle of Chongqing, east of the Huaying range and inside the north-eastern ecological conservation zone. It covers 1,518 square kilometres and counts 950,000 people. The county was founded in the Han dynasty under Ba commandery, was made into Qingshui and then Guixi County in the early Tang, was merged into Fengdu in the early Yuan with a Linjiang inspection office set over it, and was restored at the end of that dynasty; in 2024 it was included in the Chongqing main-city metropolitan area. Its land runs from 320 metres to 1,183. It calls itself the place of origin of the national-flower peony, and peony root bark is sold among its local products.
