Wanling: a township renamed in 2013, and the county that began in 758
The one dated act in Wanling's record, the four units beneath it, and the Tang county seat that still gives the district two of its subdistricts.
Wanling is a township-level administrative unit of Rongchang District. On 24 September 2013 the Chongqing municipal government approved its renaming: the town had been called Lukong, and that approval is the single dated fact the district record gives about it. Beneath it are one community, Darongzhai, and three villages, Shabao, Shangshu and Yuding. The town stands in a district whose county seat, Changyuan, was founded in 758 as the seat of Changzhou.
