Liangping bamboo

Bamboo in Liangping is a craft before it is a crop. The district calls bamboo blinds, New Year prints and lantern opera its three wonders, and the bamboo blinds were entered in the first batch of the national intangible heritage expanded list, woven from culms split into fine strips. The district even has a town named Zhushan, Bamboo Mountain. Liangping is flat land at the foot of Gaoliang Mountain, 1,892 square kilometres in the north-east of Chongqing, and its name, given in 1952 after a collision with Liangshan County in Chongqing, records that plain. The woodblock New Year prints and the lantern opera share the same first national list.
