Qiansimen Bridge

The Qiansimen bridge crosses the Jialing between Yuzhong and Jiangbei on the line of an old city gate. It starts at Shaanxi Road, runs through a tunnel under the peninsula, comes out beside Hongyadong and crosses the river; the whole route is about 1.6 kilometres, with a tunnel of about 700 metres. The main bridge is 720 metres long, a single-tower, single-plane steel truss cable-stayed span with openings of 88, 312, 240 and 80 metres. Two tracks of Line 6 run on the lower deck, four lanes of city road on the upper. Road traffic began at midnight on 29 April 2015.
