Tanghe: a tributary town and its wedding custom
One of Jiangjin's twenty-five towns, on one of its thirty-eight rivers, known for a wedding custom and for the water in a forest park.
Tanghe is one of the 25 towns of Jiangjin District, and the Tanghe is one of its 38 rivers. The district's Yangtze waterway runs 127 kilometres, with five national deep-water ports, and the tributaries bring the total to 305 kilometres of waterway. The town appears on the district's list of old towns with Zhongshan and Jiatan, a short list for a district of this size. Its name is also on a different kind of list: the district names the Tanghe wedding customs among its key folk customs, beside the Lovers' Stairway, and the Tanghe water area is one of the five units of the Dayuandong forest park.
