The Mould before the Metal: Work Remembered in Tiexi
A former foundry makes more sense when the machinery is read through the problems its workers had to solve.
The museum combines a surviving industrial building with a wider collection of machinery and manufacturing history. Casting is a particularly useful way into it: a finished metal object depends on patterns, moulds, lifting equipment and repeated human adjustments. The building is now a museum, not a working production line.
