Mukden, Hoten, Shenyang: A Camp in a Global War
The surviving camp and records held overseas connect industrial forced labour with individual routes across Asia.
Known in wartime records as Mukden or Hoten, the camp held Allied servicemen transported from other battlefields and prison systems. Its barracks and service buildings establish a local setting; records held abroad preserve individual journeys and testimony. Their different arrival dates, ranks and assignments shaped very different experiences of captivity.
