Keelung.

Keelung is the port at Taiwan's northern tip, built around a deep natural harbour with hills behind it. Spanish, Dutch, Qing and Japanese interests all used the bay, and the city grew as the island's main gateway for shipping. Rain is frequent, the streets are narrow, and the old commercial core still clusters around the Miaokou night market and the harbour quay.

A port between hills

Keelung's harbour is a deep bay with the city packed into the few flat streets behind it. The temple night market is the old core's kitchen.
