Kaohsiung.

Kaohsiung is the port city of southern Taiwan, with a harbour sheltered by Cijin Island and a hinterland of steel mills, refineries and shipyards. More than two-thirds of the island's container traffic passes through it. The city grew rapidly after 1945, became a special municipality in 1979, and merged with its county in 2010 to become the largest municipality in Taiwan by area. In the last two decades it has converted docks, warehouses and railway land into museums, galleries and parks.
