Keelung's harbour is a deep bay with the city packed into the few flat streets behind it. The temple night market is the old core's kitchen.

Keelung Harbour is a deep bay sheltered by hills, with a narrow entrance and quays close to the streets. The city's commercial core grew around the harbour and the Miaokou market, which clusters around the Dianji Temple on Rensan Road. Cargo and cruise terminals, fish markets and the night market share the same few square kilometres.
