Sanyu Cave

Sanyu Cave near Yichang takes its name from the visit of Bai Juyi, Bai Xingjian and Yuan Zhen in 819. Su Xun and his sons Su Shi and Su Zhe are associated with a later Three Visitors tradition. The cave’s literary landscape includes inscriptions and later acts of recarving, alongside the natural limestone chamber.
