Xiaogan.

Xiaogan lies about 60 kilometres north-west of Wuhan on the northern edge of the Jianghan plain, covers 8,904 square kilometres and counted 4,270,371 residents at the 2020 census. Its name means filial piety moves heaven, and it comes from the story of Dong Yong, who sold himself for his father's funeral in The Twenty-four Filial Exemplars. The county was called Xiaochang until 924, because tradition placed three filial sons in the district. The Han River and the Hanbei River run through the south of the prefecture, and the Fu and Huan rivers flow down from the north to join as the Fu-Huan River south of the city. The land is flat and fertile with many lakes, and the prefecture's listed specialities include Xiaogan rice wine and Xiaogan sesame candy.
