Hengdaohezi’s locomotive depot
Fifteen brick bays and a central turntable made Hengdaohezi’s fan-shaped engine house a working railway machine.
Hengdaohezi Station received passengers and trains; the locomotive depot sheltered and repaired engines. Construction of the Chinese Eastern Railway began in 1897, and the station, built in 1901, remained in use in a provincial account published in 2025. The buildings reveal separate roles within one rail network.
