Binhai New Area

The Binhai New Area sits at the juncture of the Beijing-Tianjin city belt and the circum-Bohai city belt, which is the geographic reason it was chosen. Its components are administrative rather than architectural: the Tianjin Economic-Technological Development Area, an airport economic zone, the national independent innovation demonstration zone, the Lingang economic area, the Nangang industrial zone, the Sino-Singapore Tianjin Eco-city, a central business district and the port. One building in it became famous abroad on its own: in August 2018 Time magazine ranked the Tianjin Binhai Library first on its list of the world's 100 greatest places of 2018.
