Wusuli Boat Song brought a Hezhen melodic inheritance to a composed work heard at the 1962 Harbin Summer Music Festival. The credited lyricists are Hu Xiaoshi and Guo Song, with music by Guo Song and Wang Yuncai. Local accounts connect its development to Jialingkuo folk songs associated with river life. In 1980, UNESCO selected the song for an Asia-Pacific music textbook, carrying it into another setting for listening and learning.

A boat-shaped place for musical memory
At Sipai's cultural park, the Wusuli Boat Song Memory Hall takes the shape of a large fishing boat. Its entrance displays the song's name and the year 1962. The design connects a concert repertoire with the river work that informed its imagery. Beyond the hall, Sipai continues to present oral storytelling and other Hezhen arts through local cultural practitioners. The famous song becomes one way into that broader musical and narrative life.
