Zangshan and the Orphan of Zhao
A shrine east of Zangshan village in Yu County, Yangquan, provincial in 1996 and national in 2013, on the mountain that keeps the story of the Zhao orphan.
Zangshan Shrine stands east of Zangshan village in Changchi town, Yu County, Yangquan, in eastern Shanxi. The county covers 2,439 square kilometres with its government in Xiushui town, and the shrine is one of the six national key cultural relic protection units in it. It was announced as a provincial unit on 12 January 1996 and as a national one in May 2013, in the category of ancient buildings and historical commemorative structures. The mountain takes its name from the story of the orphan of Zhao, the tale of a child of the Zhao clan hidden from a purge, which is told of this place rather than documented by it. The shrine is where the story is kept.
