Red rock, and the seat of a Daoist school
The Longhu Mountains are Danxia sandstone, and they have been the seat of the Zhengyi tradition for nearly two thousand years.
The Longhu Mountains are typical Danxia landform: red sandstone cut into cliffs and peaks. They are one of the four sacred mountains of Daoism and the seat of the Zhengyi school, whose hereditary masters, the Zhang Heavenly Masters, established the succession at the Sihan Heavenly Master Mansion. The mountain also holds the Xianshuiyan cliff tombs, left by the ancient Yue people more than two thousand years ago and now a national key protected relic.
