Nanchang.

Nanchang is the provincial capital, more than two thousand two hundred years old, with the Gan River and the Fu River running through it and a quarter of its area given over to water. Its history is written on the surface: a Song pagoda, a Ming-era tower rebuilt in 1989, and the hotel that became the headquarters of the August 1st Uprising of 1927. Start with those, then follow the river north.
