Xinhua

Xinhua (新化) is a county of 3,636 square kilometres in Loudi's west, on the middle Zi River under the south-east foot of the Xuefeng range. It was chartered in 1072 when the Song state forced open the old Meishan hill country, and it remains that culture's heart. Its listed treasures include the Meishan Dragon Palace show cave, the Ziquejie terraces, Meishan martial arts and the mountain songs. Its people are also credited with running most of China's print-and-copy shops.
