Qianyang Ancient Town

Qianyang Ancient Town is the old core of Qiancheng in today's Hongjiang City, standing where the Wushui meets the Yuan river with water on three sides and a mountain behind. For centuries it administered this stretch of the Yuan valley as Qianyang County, and its 0.8 square kilometres of bluestone lanes keep the shape of a county seat, from the sites of four city gates to the old yamen and academy. The Furong Tower beside the water holds a corridor of more than a hundred steles engraved with the hands of canonical calligraphers. The complex entered the national key protected heritage list in 2013.
