A wetland park southwest of the city

Fujin's National Wetland Park lies southwest of the city, in the southern part of Jinshan Town. A municipal planning document records its area as 2,200 hectares. The park sits within the Sanjiang Plain's wider patchwork of farmland, waterways and protected marshes, offering one defined point of entry into a landscape whose water extends far beyond a single visitor site.

Several protected landscapes share the plain

The same document identifies separate protected wetland areas at Sanhuanpao, Liuhetang, the Songhua river margin and Heiyupao. Their locations follow different parts of Fujin's water geography. The riverside reserve occupies the Songhua's southern bank, while the park lies farther southwest. Their names describe a network of places, each connected to the plain's water and habitat.

Watching and maintaining a changing habitat

Fujin's wetland protection station combines resource surveys, monitoring, research cooperation and public education. Its responsibilities also include organizing visits where they are compatible with protection. The work behind the view is continuous: recording the condition of water and habitat, sharing knowledge and managing how people encounter the wetland.
