Kongtong Mountain: Daoist halls above Pingliang
Kongtong Mountain rises west of Pingliang’s urban centre, where forested slopes, a high gorge lake and a counted group of Daoist buildings shape the city’s best-known mountain landscape.
Kongtong Mountain rises in the western suburb of Kongtong District. Municipal pages record its 2,123-metre main peak, a scenic area of 84 square kilometres, extensive forest and a group of platforms, palaces and stone chambers. Local tradition also links the mountain with Guangchengzi and the Yellow Emperor.
