Kongtong Mountain: Daoist halls above Pingliang
Kongtong Mountain rises west of Pingliang’s urban centre, where forested slopes, a high gorge lake and a counted group of Daoist buildings shape the city’s best-known mountain landscape.
Pingliang sits east of the Liupan range. Kongtong Mountain rises in the western suburb of Kongtong District, about 12 kilometres from the urban centre, with a main peak of 2,123 metres. Municipal accounts describe its forest, gorge lake, platforms and halls, alongside the story of the Yellow Emperor meeting Guangchengzi.
