Western Qing Tombs

The Western Qing tombs lie in the hills at Yixian, south-west of Beijing, and were used from the Yongzheng reign onward. Four emperors are buried here, with their empresses and consorts, in separate walled compounds spread across a valley. The site entered the World Heritage list in 2000 together with the Eastern tombs at Zunhua, as the two parts of one Qing imperial tomb property.
