Laolongtou

Laolongtou, the Old Dragon's Head, is the point south of Shanhaiguan where the Great Wall runs into the Bohai Sea. The Ming fort here was built to guard the landward approach to the pass, and a temple and pavilions were added on the spit. The present structures are reconstructions and repairs of a site that has been damaged and rebuilt repeatedly, and the sea wall remains the visual argument that the Great Wall ends at the water.
