Shengfang

Shengfang is a town in Bazhou, in the south of Langfang, on the eastern edge of the low wetlands known as the Dongdian. It grew as a market town where canal traffic, grain and local manufactures met, and its old streets keep temples, guild halls and courtyard houses from the Ming and Qing. The surrounding water has shrunk since the twentieth century, but the town's plan still follows the channels that once made it a port.
