China FAW Museum

China FAW’s history in Changchun is a story of different vehicle tasks and production methods, not one uninterrupted model line. The Jiefang CA10 was a four-ton truck produced through technical cooperation, workplace learning, factory adjustment and testing. The Hongqi CA770, by contrast, was a three-row ceremonial sedan whose exterior and interior took shape through scale models, workshop practice and design review. China FAW Museum opened on 21 July 2026 with six galleries and nearly 150 representative vehicles; Changchun Film Studio Group is its operator. This is the new China FAW museum, distinct from the earlier Hongqi Cultural Exhibition Hall that opened to the public in 2024.

The Factory That Learned to Build the Jiefang Truck

The Jiefang CA10 emerged from overseas training, Soviet technical assistance and factory adjustment. A 1956 newspaper report follows ten trial trucks from the moving line to engineering inspection, while FAW’s technical history records the later drive to improve the model for Chinese use.
