AFCD lists the Yuen Tsuen Ancient Trail among the routes crossing Tai Lam Country Park. The trail belongs to a wider network that includes country trails, nature trails and MacLehose sections. The name carries a historical association, while today the trail is also a marked route through a managed country park. Its place among these paths connects an older route to the present landscape of recreation and conservation.

A village and a resting point
At Tin Fu Tsai, AFCD records a campsite beside the village and notes that the area once served as a Forest Station during afforestation work. The agency also says the place lay along Yuen Tsuen Ancient Trail and had served as a resting point for commuters in earlier days. The same source describes Tin Fu Tsai as founded by the Choi clan about three centuries ago, with some indigenous villagers still living there. At Tin Fu Tsai, the trail, village and former Forest Station bring travel, settlement and later forest management together in one landscape.
Walking through layered land use
A walk along the Yuen Tsuen route moves through a landscape shaped by travel, village life, water catchments and conservation management. At Tin Fu Tsai, a named village, a former resting point and a present-day campsite mark different chapters in the route’s use. Paths carry memory through the places they connect while continuing to serve a managed park landscape today.
