Baodukou

Baodukou belongs to Shanting District in the north of Zaozhuang and stands twenty-five kilometres south-west of the district seat, rising to 584 metres, the highest of the southern Shandong hills. Its name is recent: the hill was called Lou Shan in the Han and Xiantai Shan in the Wei and Jin, and only came to be called Baodukou in the Tang and Song. Today it carries a national forest park, and it is one of the parks that anchor the northern half of Zaozhuang's tourism, set against the canal town of Taierzhuang in the south and Weishan Lake in the west. It is also a name in the record of 1923, and a phrase in the orders of 1938.
