Porcelain, merchant associations and a house rebuilt above itself reveal the commercial world behind Fuzhou’s Shangxiahang streets.

In Taijiang District, Shanghang and Xiahang streets belong to the same historic commercial neighbourhood. Around the Sanjie River, merchant halls and former homes share space with new tea shops and cultural businesses. The neighbourhood makes a useful meeting point for stories of inland goods and maritime exchange.
