Rice-fish from one Nahui household

A 2020 report profiles Nahui resident Cen Jin and his family serving rice-fish raised in their own paddy at a farm restaurant. Visitors could also take part in field-fishing. The report notes that the family bought fish from cooperatives when its own supply was insufficient. This household example shows how a paddy could connect rice cultivation, fish, meals and visitor activity.

A named agricultural demonstration

A 2022 Guizhou agriculture report records a rice-fish demonstration in Shang Nahui covering 185 mu and a separate, smaller rice-turtle demonstration. It also describes ecological pest-control plots around rice fields. The figures document a specific program and its field practices. They give a second view of rice-fish work alongside the household account, at the scale of a local demonstration.

Fields within a rural tourism route

The Ministry of Culture and Tourism’s 2022 route places Shang Nahui and Baguatian among Wanfenglin’s rural destinations and presents harvest visits and field-fishing. In a rice-fish paddy, fish share the managed water environment with rice; seasonal harvest links field work with food. The route shows how this agricultural setting was presented to visitors, while the household report records one family’s way of joining production and hospitality.
