At Wanfenglin, the peaks frame a working valley of cultivated plots, the Nahui River and Buyi villages, alongside newer tourism.

A valley within Qianxinan

Wanfenglin lies in Xingyi, a county-level city administered by Qianxinan Buyi and Miao Autonomous Prefecture. Government descriptions place peak forest, cultivated land, Buyi villages and the Nahui River in the same landscape. Steep limestone forms leave flatter ground for fields and settlement. Nahui Village is listed among ethnic-characteristic villages in Wanfenglin Subdistrict.

Ecological repair and rural development

A 2020 Ministry of Ecology and Environment account describes Wanfenglin Subdistrict as an urban-rural edge that had faced severe rocky desertification. It records more than two decades of remediation, land planning and infrastructure work, alongside tourism and other industries. The case names the Nahui River, Baguatian fields and Buyi homes. These details place present-day farming and visitor activity within a recent history of environmental repair and economic change.

Named villages and fields

A 2022 Ministry of Culture and Tourism route names Shang Nahui, Xia Nahui and Baguatian, and identifies Shang Nahui as a Buyi village. It presents harvest visits and field-fishing as visitor activities. These named places show how rural tourism uses the agricultural landscape, while fields and villages remain part of the lived valley. The route records a particular tourism presentation, not the daily routine of every household.
