Piyang-Donggar Beyond the Caves
Piyang and Donggar are not a single cave or a single moment. Archaeological research places them within a broader Zhada complex of settlements, cemeteries, and Buddhist monuments, where traces of farming and herding complicate the idea of an isolated monastery landscape.
