Dapeng's gates open onto a settlement shaped by coastal defense. At Nantou, older streets meet a changing urban neighborhood. A former factory in Shiyan preserves production lines alongside dormitories and a canteen, while Dafen's painters and central Shenzhen's cultural buildings add other kinds of work and public space.
