Shantou.

Shantou grew from a coastal port into a city whose arcade streets, Small Park buildings and qiaopi archives preserve different layers of daily life. Chaoyang and Chaonan have their own Yingge teams, while Laomagong Theatre and local kuih crafts carry neighborhood traditions forward.

A Letter Folded Around a Remittance

Qiaopi joined overseas remittances to family messages. Shantou’s archive displays show how addresses, printed envelopes, handwritten notes and return receipts made a long-distance household exchange tangible.
