Where the blocks are still printed
The Dege Printing House was founded in 1729. Its red-birch blocks, local paper and hand presses are still in use.
The printing house is a dark, narrow building around a courtyard. Blocks are stored on shelves, inked by hand and pressed with a simple roller.
