Chifeng in this batch is not one site. The C-shaped jade dragon was found at Sanxingtala in Ongniud Banner and is now in the National Museum. Liao Shangjing stands at Lindong in Bairin Left Banner.

A dragon the size of a hand

The largest known Hongshan C-shaped jade dragon is 26 centimetres high. It was found at Sanxingtala in Chifeng and is kept in Beijing.

Two cities in one plan

Liao Shangjing at Lindong is a ri-shaped plan: an imperial city to the north, a Han city to the south, taken by the Jin in 1120.
