Zhuoshui Ancient Town

Zhuoshui is a township of Qianjiang District on the Apeng River, and its old street and covered bridge form a national 5A scenic area. The bridge is the reason people stop: a roofed timber span over the water, with benches along both sides, so that the crossing can be made in rain and the middle of the bridge can be used as a room. The town behind it keeps stilt houses, and the Puhua community, from which the district's cave river takes its name, belongs to it. In July 1952 fourteen townships were transferred from Youyang to Qianjiang, and Zhuoshui was one of them, which is why a town on this bank speaks with the accent of the county next door.
