Xincun Bay and Its Seagrass Reserve

The Ministry of Ecology and Environment places Xincun Bay in southern Lingshui and describes it as the county’s largest lagoon. A special reserve covering Xincun Port and Lian Port was approved in 2007 to protect seagrass beds. In a 2024 field report, Danjia fisher Lin Yousen took reporters by fishing boat into the lagoon to see the underwater “meadow”; county staff described the reserve’s zones and monitoring stations. Here the focus is the seagrass reserve across Xincun Port and Lian Port, where fishers and county staff monitor the lagoon’s underwater habitat.
