Five Lords’ Temple

A sequence of shrines, garden spaces and the Hainan First Tower preserves distinct stories of exile and remembrance.

A 2010 Hainan Daily account describes entering through the gate and following a stone path toward several distinct buildings: Su Gong Shrine, the paired Fubo shrines, Qiongyuan garden and the tower whose lower plaque names Five Lords’ Temple. The five officials commemorated there are Li Deyu, Li Gang, Li Guang, Zhao Ding and Hu Quan. The visitor sequence also includes Su Shi’s shrine, while Hai Rui’s separate Haikou legacy adds another historical thread to the site. From the upper tower, the reporter saw the Meishe River and the museum across it.
