Mount Jiuhua monasteries

A mountain network of named monasteries, Buddhist collections and long-lived institutions.

The monasteries of Mount Jiuhua appear along roads, in settlements and among the peaks. A 2020 cultural account names four principal establishments and records a collection of sutras, seals, ceramics and bronzes. It is a dated description rather than a current census, but it shows the range of material and institutional histories tied to the mountain.
